EFME - Emulator / EFME - Arcade
Last post by BarXQueen - Today at 10:20 AM
You may have noticed the Arcade feature in EFME. It isn't fully implemented yet, but it will let you automatically open as many machines as your PC can handle, with George playing them all simultaneously. You can pick from as many machines as you have installed and it will fill in the gaps randomly, or you can even have them all the same.

Heaven or hell?  ;D

Fully functional in the next release.

I'll see what I can find.

A few years ago a guy sent me a mab that he's descrambled, not sure how, it worked to an extent but gave reel error on boot up.

It was a few years back, but I might have a backup as I don't have the contact any longer.

I'll get back to you with, hopefully, some info on the mab board.

Quote from: Jolt_Z on Today at 08:40 AMWould emulating Phoenix (Labyrinth, Card Sharp, Sphinx, etc)/Phoenix2 (Dungeon Master, Street Fighter 2, Labyrinth 2?, Red White and Blue 7s) hardware be within the scope for this emulator?

Labyrinth, Sphinx and Red White and Blue 7s already run on MFME, I wouldn't particularly have an appetite to add them to EFME but you never know. If you have any ROMs that don't run in MFME than I will certainly take a look at them.

EFME - Emulator / EFME - Boards and CPU Info Nee...
Last post by BarXQueen - Today at 10:04 AM
I'll admit I don't fully understand the different boards Electrocoin used. EFME emulates the original Z80 MPU board and a later revision using the Z80-compatible Z180 (HD64180), which integrates several peripherals onto the CPU. I looked at the Red, White & Blue 7's ROMs that MFME runs, and MFME lists them as a "Phoenix 2" board using a Motorola MCF5206 ColdFire CPU, so they're well outside what EFME does. Can anyone explain the different generations of Electrocoin boards and CPUs? I gather there's at least a Z80 MPU, a Z180 version, a "Phoenix" (I think 68340-based), and this "Phoenix 2" ColdFire generation, but I'd love the full picture from someone who knows the history.

Quote from: Amusements on Today at 08:13 AMHi @BarXQueen Thanks to you and everyone involved:) This is an amazing release and runs fluently on W10/11!!.

Some of the newer Electrocoin games were truly evil, and bankrupted a lot of us in the past, so I look forward to  getting back some free play time. I have looked on a couple of ROM sites and the amount of versions of bar-x is dizzying to say the least.

I am curious to know if there are there any plans for Pacdrive support for Cabs?

It is on my radar, although I have no idea how to do it so any technical documentation would be invaluable!

Quote from: Electrocoinfan91 on Today at 08:54 AMOh yeah Bar-X Queen, just wanted to big up the accessibility of this new emulator plus its help files. As I'm blind, I have to use a screen reader to navigate the screen. It can read absolutely everything. I am using it like MFME where you can't empty the machine with the real hopper to make it easier for me. Unfortunately I can't use George yet with super red bar which would come in handy for the extra nudge feature and I have screwed up plenty of 6, 9, and even a 12 nudge sequence to get no win. Whereas George helps with all this and I can stop him whenever I feel like I need to stop him. Once again a massive thanks for these features.

Thank you for your comments.

George is now fixed on Red Bar, download the latest version from Pook's DXcellent site.

If there are any other accessibility features you would like just ask and I will see what I can do.

EFME - Emulator / Re: EFME - Bug Reports

Quote from: ayeastra on Jul 20, 2026, 09:27 PMTo help more, you can see the bug in action after a fresh start, ram clear with all meters at zero.

I did get the bars drop in 3 times and a couple other wins but after 91 spins I have somehow won 64.80 which is impossible.

Seems impossible to upload pics to this forum but you can view the stats at this link:

https://postimg.cc/VSMsRtpK

If you play turbo you will see the P&L gradually just drift up and up through the session and stay positive throughout.

Thanks for the information, there was a bug in the emulator which has been fixed and will be in the next version. I ran 100,000 spins and it is spot on now.
