The 7 seg display however is lighting in lamps like a Diva would but it isn't linking to the 7 seg reader? Is there something I can do to make it work or would this need your magical touch with?

Thank you again !

Glad the reel editor went in easily!

You can sort the 7 seg yourself. The display you've placed is the "Seven-segment" type, which reads digits that PFME already knows how to decode for that program. Your board's program isn't one PFME has a record for yet (that's what the line above the lamp matrix is telling you), so that display has nothing to read and sits at "----".

The one you want is MUX LED, which lights each segment straight from a lamp cell, the same way the real glass is wired:

1. Delete the current 7 seg and insert a MUX LED from the insert menu. Put it where the old one was and set Digits to 4.

2. Each digit has one line taking eight references separated by commas, in this order: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, then the decimal point. Right-click a cell in the lamp matrix to copy its reference and paste it in. It looks like lamp-r0-c16.

3. On Pluto 6 the digit is normally the row and the segments run along columns 16 to 23, so the first digit would be:

lamp-r0-c16, lamp-r0-c17, lamp-r0-c18, lamp-r0-c19, lamp-r0-c20, lamp-r0-c21, lamp-r0-c22, lamp-r0-c23

and the second digit is the same with r1, then r2 and r3. What you've got lit in row 0 (columns 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21) fits that pattern. Before you type all 32, watch the matrix while the display is changing and check rows 1 to 3 flash in those same columns. If a digit comes out mirrored or scrambled, swap the references round until it reads properly.

If you let me know which machine and version this is, I can also add its digits to PFME's records so the ordinary Seven-segment display works for it in the next release.

Got ya sound easy to do.
Batman WOW v2.03

The IP19 button appears to operate all three hold buttons at an immediate time. I presume I cant get past that stage yet as we are still learning about these IP's? The IP18 is start IP16 is Auto. So far cannot find cancel/collect or seperate holds haha you may be more knowledgeable than I am again (lol)

And the original door switches do not work, TOP BOX OPEN message appears when building a multiplayer the IP buttons do toggle them but need a check box or an option to insert IP numbers into door switches manually into door keys page to function :-) (Sorry for giving you more headaches lol)

Thanks again :)

Thanks, this is really useful. You're not stuck because of the hardware. It's a gap in PFME.

The holds: IP16 to IP19 are wired as a grid on these boards, so one IP can carry several buttons. PFME doesn't know Batman's wiring yet, so pressing IP19 presses every button on that line, which is why all three holds go together. Cancel and collect will almost certainly be hiding on the same few lines. I'm adding a way to press each one separately.

The doors: for now, try Game Configuration > Raw input lines and set the top box door's IP to Held or Released on each machine until TOP BOX OPEN goes. Proper door settings, where you type in the IP yourself, are on the way.

If you can send me the Batman WOW v2.03 ROM, I can read its button table and name them properly.

PFME v0.3.12 New
  • A lamp can be lit by several bulbs, as in MFME. Select a lamp that has a lit picture, click Light by several bulbs in its properties, and add a line for each bulb: pick the bulb, then say where its light falls with a mask picture (black with a white dot) or a spot (centre, size and softness). Each patch fades with its own bulb, and where two overlap the picture is not doubled.
  • A lamp can be put on one of the board's output lines, for lights the game drives but does not name. The Lamp Matrix window now shows the output lines above the matrix, lit as the machine drives them; right-click a lit line, Copy reference, and paste it onto the lamp. This is the way onto the Batman Begins WOW top box glass: its coloured stripes, reel dividers and decals.
  • Batman Begins WOW, the three-player cabinet, is now a known machine. Its buttons come from the game (CANCEL, HOLD 1 to 3, COLLECT, TRANSFER, START and STAKE; there is no AUTO), and the station's lamps are named, the belly glass among them. A layout built for it before this update picks these up without being redrawn.
  • Cabinet, Doors and Keys can add a door of your own to any board: give it a name and a line (and, for some lines, a row). It is saved in the layout.
  • On a machine PFME has not traced, the Button Matrix and the Action list offer a separate entry for each row of the shared columns, so one numbered button no longer presses several of the game's buttons at once.
Fixed
  • Round (Bulb) lamps with pictures cut into them: with two or more on a layout, only one lit and the rest stayed dark. They all light now.
  • Lamp names no longer float over the glass when the mouse rests on a lamp during play. They show in Edit Mode only.
  • The Lamp Matrix window lists lamps in number order, and the matrix scrolls when the window is too short to show it all.
  • Some linked machines' top boxes listed seven lamps (BT, B1 to B5 and RC) that were switches, not lamps. They are gone, and a top box PFME has no lamp names for now shows numbered squares in place of another machine's names.
Worth knowing
  • A layout that uses a several-bulb lamp or an output-line lamp needs this version or later. An older copy refuses to open it, says it needs updating, and offers to fetch the update.
  • The Batman Begins WOW top box lines carry no names, so which line lights which stripe is found by watching the Lamp Matrix while the machine runs, then copying the line that changes.
