I think there is an issue with the emulator over-reporting wins in live play stats.

Magic 7 from factory reset, 10,000 spins played, 96% setting.

Meters

Cash in - 3000
Cash out - 2885   - spot on

Live play

Wagered 3000
Winnings 3525.60 (obvs not possible to win 60p so where did that come from...)
P&L +525.60
Drift -645.60

Did you use George or manual play?  George
Was Turbo on or off?  On
Was it in one sitting or multiple sessions?  One sitting 0-10000 spins no stopping
During the run, was there any snapshot restore, save-state load, game rewind, or a second RAM clear?  No
When you read the figures, was the bank empty, and were Winnings £3,525.60 from the Life column or the Sess column?   Yes cleared the bank  winnings were from life column, all meters were at 0 at start of session
How did you do the factory reset?   Machine > ram clear

Now here's the interesting bit, I reloaded the game to check the stats and reply to this post.

The meters across life and session are now all at zero and...

The LIVE section (life) NOW shows winnings 2885.00 which is correct - but I promise you when I closed the game that figure was showing 3525.60

Hope this helps.

To help more, you can see the bug in action after a fresh start, ram clear with all meters at zero.

I did get the bars drop in 3 times and a couple other wins but after 91 spins I have somehow won 64.80 which is impossible.

Seems impossible to upload pics to this forum but you can view the stats at this link:

https://postimg.cc/VSMsRtpK (https://postimg.cc/VSMsRtpK)

If you play turbo you will see the P&L gradually just drift up and up through the session and stay positive throughout.

Thanks for the information, there was a bug in the emulator which has been fixed and will be in the next version. I ran 100,000 spins and it is spot on now.

just a quickie, what are your thoughts on games played and Highest losing spins being a lifetime stat, rather than a session stat - or perhaps have both?

Happy for a discussion to be honest, I chose session because I thought that once it gets to a "High score" it would never be beaten so would be less interesting. Happy to hear other people's thoughts. I suppose a simple solution might be to have a Highest Losing Spins Ever

Just noticed a bug.  If I reset a machine or clear ram, the machine goes into turbo mode for a short while before going back to normal.

Also is there are to apply the glass overlay correctly, I enabled on Dads BarX Seven and it just covers a portion of the machine including the chrome cabinet, is there a way to edit this or determine where the glass effects lands.  These are great little touches, I also noticed you can control reel spin hard soft and bounce.  Excellent work again :)

I'll have a look at the Glass effect, should be easy to add some options. I always disliked it so never turned it on tbh. What are you seeing with the boot in turbo mode? Does the toolbar turbo button become highlighted?

Hi BXQ

I can only find 1 small bug so far:)

On bar-x 125 if you put a credit in whilst it is spinning, the game resets.

Oh, I'm not sure bud.  I was using the older revision of the emulator.  I'll try in the latest build :)

Casino Big 7. If George is playing with turbo and set to reject wins, if you get hold after nudge George stops until you press start.

I accidently clicked File - Close Layout when thinking I was closing the emulator, now I clicked it whilst in Player 3 of Oxo Super Reels, now I cant find it again... Is there a way to restore this player 3 layout alone?

It seems to still be there as I can insert credits and press START to play the board, but cannot see the actual layout image or reels etc.

Thanks for the Emulator, I was using it for first time so still was a little confused lol.

I think its when I clicked to turn off the visual effects (General - Settings - Visuals - Visuals OFF / Standard or High (any change) that it removed the layouts completely (I tried to turn off graphic effects to see if it would help my laptop as my laptop is running super slow when playing it.)

It is a bug that will be fixed in the next layout, it should close all machines. Reloading the layout fixes the issue.

SOUND ISSUES

If you have an issue with the sound in OXO Super Reels, please upload a log file to this topic (it contains no personal information, just game display data).

1. Press Windows Key + R (or right-click the Start button and choose Run).
2. Copy the following into the box and press Enter: %LOCALAPPDATA%\EFME\
3. In the folder that opens, look for files starting with "osr-display-master-". Sort by date and pick the one from a session where you heard the problem, ideally one where you played for at least five minutes.
4. Right-click the file, choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder, and attach the zip to a post in this topic.

It also helps to say whether you are on a desktop or laptop (and on battery or plugged in), which antivirus you use, and whether the game itself seems to run slightly slowly while the sound is choppy.

Hi BarXQueen, thanks again for this fantastic emulator. On OXO Super Reels, George has managed to IOU slaves 1 an 2 is there way to re-float the hoppers or is it best to have them on always full? Cheers Shaun

The refill process on this machine isn't correctly emulated yet, it is on my list to look at.

Open settings and set these however you like:

George section: Keep the hopper paying while George plays (Set it to On)
Emulation section: Emulate hopper levels (Set it to Off)

Hi -

I am not sure if this is the bug request you asked for -

Played for a few minutes, seemed a little choppy, but didn't seem as slow as yesterday.

Running on Win 11 Pro - Laptop (Plugged In)- with McAfee AV software running - I find the game running slower also, and buttons not always responding to mouse clicks etc.

I also tried Magic 7 and that seemed to work and sound fine, at normal speed etc.

Thanks for this. That log was exactly what I needed.

Your PC ran the machine at 51% of real time, so the emulator was managing about half a second of fruit machine for every second that passed.

That is the choppiness. The sound is produced as the machine runs, so when the machine runs at half speed the sound card runs dry between refills and you get the gaps you heard. The sluggish play and the buttons not always taking a click are the same problem turning up somewhere else.

Magic 7 being fine fits, too. That is one machine on a 4 MHz processor. Oxo Super Reels 3 player is four machines at once, the top box plus your three players, each on a faster processor, all driven from a single thread. Roughly six times the raw work before you count the linking between them.

The version you were on, 1.0.29, was still writing a diagnostic file I had left switched on after my own testing, and in your session it wrote 2.9 MB in four minutes on the very thread doing the emulation. v1.0.30 is on the forum now and turns that off, so please update first.

1.0.30 also adds a speed readout. If it still chops after updating:

  - Open View > Stats Panel (Ctrl+P) while you play. A PACE line appears there whenever the emulator falls behind, with the percentage.
  - After a session where it chopped, and before you relaunch, send me machine-sounds.log from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\EFME. It gets wiped at every launch, so it has to come from the same session.

Let me know how you get on with build 30.

Hi - I am afraid it still seems to never reach full speed - I am using 1.030 as advised, and attached machine sound for you (during session)

I have also screen recorded this same session (approx. 7mins long) to see if it helps also.
This is shown with real time PACE readouts as described.

Whilst not screen recording it didn't seem to change much - hovering around approx. 50-60% of real time

Hope this helps.

mine does the same, but in Mfme this did exactly the same but not as bad on the likes of partytime arena where there is at least four instances of Mfme open at a time so always been a slight issue since the dawn of multiplayer emulation astra and now electrocoin lags where as i opened a bellfruit multiplayer in mfme and it ran fine, so not necessary a emulator issue more of the machine tech issue

Thanks for this, the log and the recording are both really useful. Your readouts confirm it: the machine is running at somewhere between a third and a half of real time on your PC, and the recording gives me a benchmark I can test any speed improvements against.

The 3 player club is four fruit machines running at once (top box plus three players) and at the moment all four are driven by a single processor core. The proper fix is to spread that work across your PC's cores, and it is a big enough change that I want to get it right rather than rush it.

Four things would help me pin down exactly what your PC needs:

Thanks

Four things would help me pin down exactly what your PC needs:
  • Your processor and RAM. Right-click the Start button, click System, and copy the Processor and Installed RAM lines from that screen into a post.
  • Your power mode. Go to Settings > System > Power & battery and check what Power mode is set to. If it says Best power efficiency, switch it to Best performance, play Super Reels with the Stats Panel open, and tell me if the PACE figure improves.
  • A quick McAfee test. With Super Reels running and the Stats Panel open, note the PACE figure. Then pause McAfee's real-time scanning (open McAfee, My Protection > Real-Time Scanning > Turn off, and pick 15 minutes so it comes back on by itself), wait a minute, and see whether PACE changes.
  • Load the 1 player Oxo Super Reels layout instead and play for a few minutes with the Stats Panel open. If no PACE line appears at all, it never fell behind, which is exactly what I want to know. That test tells me whether your PC handles one machine comfortably, and the multi-core fix depends on that being true.

Thanks
BXQ

Hi.

Following is the info requested, thanks again.

Processor   Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz (2.40 GHz)
Installed RAM   16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
System type   64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

CPU
   Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz

   Base speed:   2.40 GHz
   Sockets:   1
   Cores:   2
   Logical processors:   4
   Virtualisation:   Enabled
   L1 cache:   128 KB
   L2 cache:   512 KB
   L3 cache:   3.0 MB

Power Plan is on Maximum Performance - attached

I tried as requested to see if changes to McAfee Real Time Scanning would affect it when it is turned off etc, however the emulator didn't seem to run any quicker, still hovering around 50-60% real time when running, even with McAfee RTS turned off temporarily

I then tried the 1-player version - (for the first time admittedly today) and that worked much better, as described the PACE line didn't appear, and the machine seem to sound and run a lot better, at occasional times it stuttered and run slower for a spin or two, then the PACE line did appear but then worked normally after this for a while - possibly depending on what else my laptop was doing in the background although i didn't use any other programs etc and the McAfee was still off at this point when testing it.

My laptop isn't admittedly the best nor fastest (I thought it had 4 cores but seems there is only 2 in it (cheap laptop lol)) but graphics are also built in and not the greatest either as I have sometimes troubles trying to play higher spec games and sometimes even MFME layouts would just freeze the laptop completely, needing a full restart to work.

Hope this helps somewhat

Thanks Again.

I think this comes down to the fact that all 4 machines (including top box) are running on one CPU core which some CPUs can handle better than others. I am looking at making each machine have their own core.

Ah, thanks BarXQueen, that makes sense, I am looking at upgrading at some point but I wondered if it was actually my machine also that could be better, possibly I would get a desktop with much better graphics, as other applications that I wanted to play struggled with onboard graphics. So it was something I was looking at myself for a while too.

Appreciate it!

Hi BarXQueen,
Ref Super Red Bar £10. I have played £480 though the machine and the RTP percentage is only 55%. Do you think it is playing correctly as percentage is set at 88%? Please see screenshot

£480 is probably not enough for it to level off, keep playing (use George and leave it running if you like) and it should get to target. Typically it is 10,000 spins for them to achieve target.

Has anyone else noticed how BarX7 and Magic7 are very very skewed away from doing the 3x roll ins in the emulator?

They are so very very rare compared to the physical machines.  I've gone through multiple full cycles on both machines on 96% and seen the 3x roll in ONCE for bars.. on Magic7.  Not at all on Barx7.

Try it.. I'm not going mad..  worth mentioning the machines DO keep to percentage if George uses best strategy.
