Well I had to quickly load this layout up in MFME, when I saw it next to the "Off Your Face (Bellfruit)" layout - definitely not going in MAME but an interesting surprise! :)

I believe a lot of the early MPU4 empire stuff was unprotected & easily editable in a hex editor. Got a few here that were made by Crazybar

Interesting, just read the text at the link, the layout author was actually making a statement about the large contradiction in society/law between alcohol, and other drugs... I though it was just someone being daft!

1st October - "OFF YER TITS" is no longer available.

I have removed the "Off Yer Tits" RES file from this site as I accept that releasing a hacked version of somebody else's work is wrong. I will produce an original RES file of "Off Yer Tits" in due course and release that, as I absolutely stand by its overall theme. It was not intended to trivialise drug use and abuse, as some people seem to have concluded.

"Off Yer Tits" was a piece of satire, specifically relating to the "High Spirits" machine, but it was also directed at society's perception of drugs and alcohol as a whole. "High Spirits", a gambling machine which takes excessive consumption of hard liquor as its theme, can be played by eight year olds at seaside arcades across the UK. In society at large, alcohol seems to enjoy something of a charmed life. Despite being directly and indirectly responsible for tens of thousands of deaths a year, it is advertised and promoted in every form of media available. Marketed as cool and desirable, its appeal to teenagers is endlessly exploited by those in the business of selling this particular drug.

Alcohol is, it would seem, a thoroughly Good Drug. Of course, there are also many drugs that are, we are continually told, Bad Drugs. However, drugs such as ecstasy, cannabis and heroin are, in themselves, unusually safe. It is only the prohibition of these drugs and the resulting unregulated black market that has emerged to supply them that introduces the most dangerous aspects of their use and abuse. One only needs to look to prohibition in the USA to see how, when made illegal, alcohol engenders as much violence and harm as any other drug is capable of doing. (The Isle Of Man Government recently launched a 10 year "Drugs & Alcohol Strategy", on the first page alcohol is identified (above heroin and cocaine) as posing the greatest threat to the health of individuals and society).

That's not say that I object to High Spirits, or to alcohol's role and position in society per say. Quite the opposite, I firmly believe in the right of any individual to do whatever they wish to, as long as it does not restrict any other individual's ability to enjoy the same freedom. I would defend anyone's right to be able to buy and drink alcohol. "Off Yer Tits" was simply intended to draw attention to the massive contradiction that currently exists in this country with regard to alcohol and drugs. No one bats an eyelid at the idea of children gambling on a machine where success is measured in terms of extreme alcohol consumption, but change the word "vodka" (drinking a bottle of which would kill most people) for "heroin" (the gap between a therapeutic dose and a fatal dose is unusually wide) and all of a sudden we've stepped into unacceptable territory.

I felt that "Off Yer Tits" made a serious point in a light-hearted fashion, and I stand by posting it on this site.
