Right so you've joined the forum...why not take a few minutes to introduce yourself? It would be great to hear your views on Emulation or just Fruit Machines in general, so don't be shy get posting :)
a note to existing members:
Would be good to see an intro from you too :)

Hi, I am Mark, and I am in to whips, chains, and leather gear..... I am also known as FME's "The Perv" :)
Hi - I'm Daryl and I'm a alcoholic...
...oops wrong forum - I forgot!
And that's another problem that I won't elaborate into here ;)
I'm Binksy iv been about a good few years and was a member on the old forums too :), good to see your back online.
I'm not sure if iv introduced myself before I have not yet created any layouts, However I wouldn't mind having a go "with some help and tips it would be great to learn"
I am a great tester though ;D I have had countless hrs of playing the layouts from various creators and still do of course. I haven't had to much time lately to download/play much. I was intrigued when I received the mail from fruit emu "regarding the mod vote" and then found this site was back online so its great to see you all back here as well.
Hope all goes well with the votes on the other forums and i look forward to good times on these forums :)
Welcome back :)
If you wanted to have a go at layout creation, there is a guide on Fruit-emu by hitthesix for emulating scorp 4 layouts. Have a go and see how yo go.

Hi, I'm Scott. I was a member on the old DADs site, but I can't find the intro I posted on there... otherwise I'd have used that one again!
I've been into FME for about ten years; I don't often post on here or Fruit-Emu but I have in the past contributed to the running costs of both sites and generally check them both most days.
I got into fruit machines about 15 years ago whilst working in a local pub when the jackpots were £10/£15/£25. I used to play machines fairly frequently but stopped when the jackpots started to creep up over £35 and the machine developers began to lack imagination by banging out clone after clone. Machines such as King Kebab and Italian Job 2 were enjoyable as you could actually play the board and had a chance of winning by taking some of the lower features, but all I see are DOND clones which I have absolutely no interest in playing.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Amber is developing, particularly if EPOCH is incorporated as it looks like KC's project is dead in the water; FME is in desperate need of something to cheer about and it will be nice to have a credible alternative to MFME given the lack of public updates/carrot dangling that went on not so long ago...!
Thanks Scottyfish, good to have you back. :)
Hi I'm Andy, I'm a carer and look after my wife 24/7, so I don't get much time to do anything.
I have two disabled boys they take up my time you are not alone.
Hey everyone, I'm Jason :)
I originally joined the FME community back in the MSN Group days, but have been away for a few years. I was reminded about FME from a few of the regulars on 'potty and they recommended this forum as a good way to catch up on the latest... it has been interesting reading up about the progress on Project Amber!
If you recognise my name from last year as a zero-post lurker - that was me... I signed up then forgot that I had (sorry! :-[ ), so finally a long-overdue introduction post! ;D

Welcome aboard!!
Hello everyone.
My name is Timbo.
Thank you for creating a fantastic website. It's a shame the arcades are not like they were in the 80's and 90's when you could spend so many happy hours there.
Hi All,
I've recently re-discovered fruit machines and Emulation in general after a long while away, I am currently working on a MFME cabinet. Hopefully with Coinmech and Hopper(s) so it will take and payout real cash.
I have obtained a Star Wars a New Hope Full size real machine which I was hoping to resurrect, but I think that might be a step too far, the cabinet is water damaged (the glass is....... interesting) and the seller sold the game card to someone, and essentially gave me the remnants.
It would appear I would need parts that I can't get (specific security chip and the Flash Software for the Game Cart) so I think it may just get stripped for parts.
I have been collecting bits for the cabinet for a while and think I have everything I need now.
Thanks for having me
Pete
Welcome aboard WibbleWobble, hope you eventually get your cab sorted. There are many knowledgeable people here and on the other FME forums so don't be afraid to ask for help if and when you need it.
Thanks for the welcome DAD, also thanks to you and all the other talented layout artists who make all the fabulous layouts of the machines I fondly remember. Also Wizard for coding MFME. I hopefully will find something I can do to add to the scene rather than just leeching.
Pete
Come on Folks its quite a while since we saw any new Introductions. Quite a few signups recently so let's here about you and how you discovered DADsFME and fruit machine emulation.

Hey all, and thank you for letting me join your forum.
My name is Mick and i come from Southend On Sea.
I discovered MFME quite a few years ago when i was randomly looking for Alwayseight to buy... i never did buy it :(
I moved away from Southend about 4 years ago but still visit the arcades sometimes when i am there.... Only play Megabars nowadays lol
I am still in awe at how good you guys manage to make your emulations look and play.
I'm not a big fan of a lot of the modern fruit machines ( Dond, etc ), but i do enjoy the classics :)
Keep up the good work and stay safe during this rather dodgy pandemic.

Cheers matey :)
When the more modern fruit machines started getting emulated i kinda lost interest a little. But man you guys are good at making them look like the real thing! Anyway, next thing to do is donate :)
I assume i donate to Dessert island fruits yeah?
Morning guys.
Not sure wether my original account still exists, I forgot the password and i got my email hacked some time ago so couldn't even request a password reset.
Anyway, If I do have a duplicate account, just bin one of them off.
Anyway, nice to see the old place once again. Cheers for letting me in.

Good to see you back mate :)
Hi there,
I'm Dave, and I come here via Dave Pook's youtube videos, DXCellent and Desert Island Fruits!
I've raided the Island for old SWPs and some modern fruities. Saw a forum post from Dad, so decided to join in here too. Line Up and Hyper/Snappy Viper were my favourites way back when. I also have an Extreme gaming Happy Campers £35 jackpot machine in the spare room. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do here!

Welcome aboard Dave, here you'll find a few layouts not available elsewhere although most designers release their work at all the FME sites. Snappy Viper was a huge favorite of mine and takes me back to the carefree days when I almost lived in the pub lol
Anyway thanks for the introduction and I hope you enjoy your time here :)
HI, i am just saying hello to everyone and looking forward to learning some tips and tricks about making layouts if i can, i only know how to play them from back in the 80's and 90's, i f i'm posting in the wrong place i do apologize, i remember the old 2 quid jackpots like Smash n grab, each way nudger and reel crazy, then moved on to the 4 quid bar x machines.
i like to have the memories come back when i sit and play them on the pc as it is as close as i can get now.

Welcome aboard. Best way to learn about layout design is to pull apart an existing layout and see what makes it tick. There is a brilliant guide to 'classic' design by Reg available at Desert Island Fruits...

Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join your forum :)
I was a member over at Fruit Emu for a while but though I donated, I was more a lurker because in terms of providing any useful input into emulating fruit machines I would be about as competent as Boris Johnson's hairdresser.
I really enjoy playing the old fruitys and was a kid of the 80s so have many happy memories of playing them on holidays and trips to Southport (I still go to Southport now and then but I do miss the old slots - the new ones just aren't the same).
If there are donations to make here I am happy to contribute a few quid for running costs - I am waiting for my approval on Desert Island Fruits as I read on the forum that is where the latest MFME editions are.
Hope everyone is well and looking after each other.
Phil.
Welcome aboard smash, nice introduction. Yep DIF is the only site that hosts the latest version of MFME, hopefully your approval won't take too long.
Dadsfme is hosted by DIF so if you make a donation there it's counts towards this site too.
Thanks
Thanks for the info DAD, once approved I will donate when I am paid next week. :)
Finally got here. Don't know why it has taken me so long.
I've been 'lurking' on the fruit emulation scene since the release of Barcrests Magnificent sevens, I hate to think how many years ago that may have been but suffice to say the MFME scene has kept me hooked since.

Hi, welcome to the site.
Although there are some layouts here which aren't available at Desert Island Fruits, you really need to persevere there as its the only place to get hold of the latest version of MFME which you'll probably need.
